ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Olivia. I am a junior pursuing a BA in English with a double concentration in Creative Writing and Literature and minors in Professional Sales and Professional Writing Studies at Elon University. My goals are to work in publishing and editing, surround myself with books, and publish my own writing. I chose to study abroad at Sant'Anna Institute because I wanted to meet new people and immerse myself in a different culture. I've loved chatting with locals, learning some Italian, and exploring the Amalfi Coast.

International Internship

My internship at Sant'Anna has increased my professional writing and marketing skills through experience creating content for various social media platforms, writing blog posts, and designing flyers. My favorite creation is the Italian Culture 101 highlight that is posted on Instagram each week. Each post offers current and prospective students helpful tips about studying abroad in Sorrento and adjusting to the Italian lifestyle. I also really enjoyed writing blog posts because of their short but informative style and the flexibility to write about my interests.​

As I only reported to Sant'Anna's Student Life Coordinator Giorgia Del Santo and had no coworkers, my work was very independent. While I typically enjoy working with a team, this aspect of the internship allowed me to reflect more on my own skills and created a flexible and creative environment. Upon reflection at the end of the internship, I developed a lot of interrelated skills and learned about personal values that will continue to influence me in the future.
